Yellow Bastion (Žuta tabija)
A fortress bastion turned café terrace — the city's classic sunset viewpoint.
About
Part of the 18th-century Vratnik fortifications, the Yellow Bastion faces west over the whole valley. Grab a seat on the low walls or at the café, and watch the minarets light up as the sun sets behind Mount Igman.
History
During Ramadan a cannon is fired here at sunset to mark the breaking of the fast.
Local tip
Walk up via the Kovači cemetery and down through the Vratnik mahala.
