Vratnik
The old walled quarter above the city — fortress gates, the Yellow Bastion and a panorama of red roofs and minarets.
Vratnik was fortified in the 18th century and parts of its walls and gates (Vratnik kapija, Širokac) still stand. Its main attraction is the Yellow Bastion (Žuta tabija), where during Ramadan a cannon marks iftar. Wander down through its mahalas past small mosques, cemeteries with white nišani and courtyards behind high walls.
